Choosing a Small Coffee Maker for a Student
Without a doubt, caffeine is one of the essential elements of success when it comes to student life and academics. I fondly remember hitting the brew button on the small coffee maker in my dormitory not just once in the mornings, but on two separate occasions in the late afternoon as well. I likely wouldn’t be where I am today without the added boost provided by caffeine, and I’m sure other students would echo my sentiments. When selecting a small coffee machine for college it’s critical to follow a few simple steps, which are laid out for you in the following article.
For most students, space is a limiting factor in nearly all living situations. Some students may have little more than 150 square feet of dormitory space to house everything they own, so it’s critical that they choose their appliances carefully. Perhaps the most important aspect of choosing a small coffee maker for a student is its physical size. You will want to select a machine with a small footprint, which will likely be a single cup coffee machine or other low capacity brewer. Fortunately, there are a variety of quality small coffee makers that are available online and at your local retailer. Most of them are priced right at around $20 to $30, which brings me to my next point – never overspend on a coffee maker for a student.
The last thing you want to do is to purchase the best small coffee maker available only to have it destroyed by careless roommates or from simple neglect. Instead, try to set a reasonable budget when shopping for a student; there are dozens of great machines priced at under $50 and several in the $20 range. By adhering to this price range you won’t feel bad about the eventual demise of the machine, which is all but guaranteed. A lower priced machine will also likely be easier to operate, since there will be no fancy buttons or gadgets to manipulate.
Buying a coffee maker for student life is a necessity, but it doesn’t mean that it has to be a financial drain on the purchaser. By purchasing a small coffee maker that is relatively inexpensive you will be providing the student with one of their first real appliances while feeling at ease with the whatever might happen to it down the line.
